Painting advice? [Oct. 19th, 2009|07:46 am]
I have a tent which is very old and considerably ugly so I'm thinking of tarting it up by painting it. What sort of paint would work best on nylon? I'm thinking acrylic, but has anyone out there actually done something like this?

Never tried it but my guess is that you will have to use special fabric paint.
Spray paint would have been the easiest especially to cover big surfaces but I am afraid the paint will be beading up on nylon.
You can find fabric paint in bottles and spray. Some will need to be fixed with a hot iron whilst others won't require any fixative at all, just follow the instructions.
I would go to your local DIY store or art shop with a little sample of fabric and ask to test the paint. I am sure you can make a little hole somewhere and sew it back after! ^^'
Hope it helps :)
